Sharing Ashley and Joe’s West Overton wedding pictures today! I have photographed at West Overton a few times and I love it more and more every time I go back! Ashley and Joe were married in front of the house at the Distillery. Their reception was held in the barn within walking distance of the ceremony. “The story of West Overton begins with Henry Overholt, his wife and twelve children who emigrated from Bucks County, Pa., to the Jacobs Creek area of Westmoreland County, Pa., (West Overton Village) in April, 1800. They settled with other Mennonites who were in the area.
The first business conducted at the village was distilling rye whiskey in a very small distillery built from logs.  By 1803, Henry owned 260 acres along what is now Route 819 between the communities of Scottdale and Mt. Pleasant.

Henry’s son, Abraham, was a master weaver who then became an elder in the Mennonite Church.  He also began the commercial distilling operation at West Overton which included Old Farm Pure Rye Whiskey.  As the industry continued to develop, the village became completely self-sufficient and there was zero waste as part of the distilling industry.

West Overton Village consists of the remaining eighteen buildings. The big barn, gardens, Overholt Room, and mansion front yard are a hot spot for regional weddings. Sometimes as many as three couples a weekend tie the knot at our distinctive setting. West Overton is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a stop on the American Whiskey Trail.”

Sharing this beautiful wedding from the West Overton Barn. Chelsea and Jason’s wedding was such an awesome mix of different styles pulled into one location. A bit rustic mixed with distressed buildings and unique twists that all pulled together! The West Overton Barn is part of the West Overton Village . There is a Distillery on the property and lots of cool hidden gems to take photos at! Their wedding colors were navy, pink, gold, and anything along the lines of rustic colors. The guys wore navy suits with bow ties and the bridesmaids colors were pink and navy.  Carson’s Catering served the food while Frank Metzler got everyone on the dance floor!
